She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lawrence (Willie) Willard and her parents, Sadie and Melvin Goodwin. She is survived by her two daughters, Melody Dance (Keith) and Donna Willard; one son, Robbie Willard (Lisa); four grandchildren, Jason Varney (Annie), Lauren Varney-Heffernan (John), Noah Willard and Avery Willard; four nieces; one nephew; and one great-grandchild expected in August. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Community Church.She retired from J.C. Penney and was a dedicated homemaker who leaves behind a legacy of wonderful family meals and memorable holiday gatherings. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and wife. Thank you to Dr. Fintel and the staff of Blue Ridge Cancer Center as well as the 6th floor nurses at Lewis Gale Medical Center. on February 25, 2016.5

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lelia Willard and his brothers, Paul and Perry Willard.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Melva Goodwin Willard; two daughters, Melody Dance (Keith), and Donna Willard; and one son, Robbie Willard (Lisa); four grandchildren, Jason Varney (Annie), Lauren Varney-Heffernan (John), Noah Willard and Avery Willard; and four nieces and one nephew. He was a faithful member of Fellowship Community Church. He was a dedicated employee of Kroger Co. for 43 years. He was a Korean War Veteran who was wounded and received a purple heart. One of his greatest joys in life was the time he spent with his family. on September 20, 2015.6
