Thomas Webster "Tom" Richardson Thomas Webster Richardson, 81, of Ashland Circle, Bedford, died Wednesday, September 14, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Bandy Richardson; two nephews, James and Elizabeth Lakey of Maryland, and Jerry and Kelly Lakey of Forest; niece, Jan Lakey of Maryland; and six great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Webster and Sara Schoene Richardson of Blacksburg and Bedford, Virginia; and two sisters, Lee Richardson Sendelbeck and Nancy Richardson Lakey. Tom graduated from Blacksburg High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an embassy guard in London, Paris and The Hague before resuming his education and graduating from Chowan College, N.C., and Arkansas State University. His aunt, Mary Lee Richardson Harvey Cake, asked him to help run the family business of The Bedford Bulletin and Print Shop in Bedford, Virginia and he became Vice President of Bedford Bulletin, Inc. and manager of the Print Shop for many years. He was active and an offcer in many civic and flying groups including: The Big Otter Mill Association, Public Library Commission, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, Bedford Rifle Grays, Gobbler Club, and Rotary Club. He was a member of several pilot groups including QB’s and a glider plane group. Tom was a member of the Bedford Fire Department and was made a lifetime member. He was elected Elk of the Year and Fireman of the year.4 He was born on January 7, 1941 at Roanoke, Virginia.3 He married Jeanette Faye Bandy, daughter of Andrew Thomas "Andy" Bandy and Edith Juanita Hall, on August 12, 1966 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.1,2,4 Thomas Webster "Tom" Richardson died on September 14, 2022 at Virginia at age 81.4

He was a World War II Army Veteran, the first Giles County Voter Registrar, an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Pearisburg, and a member of the American Legion Post #68 in Narrows, the American Legion Post #311 in Pembroke and the VFW Post #6000 in Narrows. He was active in the Giles County community serving as a member and past chairman of both the Giles County Board of Supervisors and the Giles County Republican Party. He was an active member, volunteer, and past president of the Giles County Chamber of Commerce and named the Giles County Citizen of the Year in 2006. He served on the Agency On Aging Board, the New River Valley Airport Commission, and the Fairview Home in Dublin Board, where the dining room was dedicated in his honor. Howard Morris was known for his love of Giles County, his storytelling and his deep historical knowledge of the New River Valley. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Bradley Morris, of Rich Creek; four daughters, Linda Candelieri and husband, Bob, Barbara Stafford, Rhonda Reynolds and husband, Billy, Heather Frazier and husband, Bruce; eight grandchildren, Chris Mann, Bobby Candelieri, Lance Reynolds, Elizabeth Stafford, Lindsay Reynolds, Mary Stafford, Bradley Frazier, and Aiden Frazier; stepgrandchildren, Steffan, Kathryn and Gunar Frazier; and one great-granddaughter, Lucy Eileen Reynolds. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary P. Hood, of Richmond, and Nancy Peters, of Pearisburg; three brothers, Rodney Morris, of Pearisburg, J.L. Morris and wife, Ann, of Pearisburg, and Robert Morris, of Jacksonville, Fla; one sister-in-law, Sue Dudding and her husband, Joe, of Narrows; and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be held in the Birchlawn Burial Park. Military Honors will be given by American Legion Post #68 in Narrows American Legion Post #311in Pembroke and VFW Post #6000 in Narrows. on April 13, 2012.3

Carolyn Sue Bradley Sue Dudding, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at her home in Narrows, VA. Born May 28, 1946, in Roanoke, VA, she was the daughter of the late Harold G. and Dorothy Mae Hall Bradley. Sue worked as a beaming operator for Celanese. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Chambers. Those left to cherish Sue's memory include her loving husband of 54 years, Joe Dudding of Narrows, VA; one son, Joey Dudding and wife Rheannon of Ripplemead, VA; one sister, Brenda Morris of Rich Creek, VA; three grandchildren, Dillon and girlfriend Kimmie, Nathan, and Marissa; and one great grandchild, Nova.
