Her husband of almost 53 years preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1998. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Karen and Edwin Mowry of Chincoteague; a son and his wife. I. Lynn and Rita Cline of Hardy: five grandchildren. Teresa J. Mowry of Chincoteague, David E. Mowry of Blacksburg, Melodye E. Mowry of Chincoteague, Mark Arlie Cline and Joe Thomas Cline, both of Hardy; a sister-in-law. Gene Gould of Miami. Fla.: seven nieces and nephews: 18 great nieces and nephews; and 5 great-great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Gould, Jr., and Billy Gould. She is survived by her husband's family of nine sisters and brothers and their spouses, Oliver and Ethel Cline of New Hope, Louise and Jack Kline of Dayton, OH, Ellen and Clarence Wyrick of Lorida, FL, Roy and Laura Cline of Rockville, MD, Fred and Gayle Cline of Brandon, FL, Jane and C. H. Mundy, Jr., of McGaheysville, Willard and Mary Cline of New Hope, Nell and Nelson Wright of Weyers Cave, and Ruth and Robert Talmage of Staunton; 20 nieces and nephews; 48 great nieces and nephews; and four great, great nieces and nephews. A service will be conducted in the Middle River Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. on May 8, 1999.6

Burial will be in Belcher Cemetery, Ovapa. on January 19, 2002.4

Avis Leonard Burdette was buried at Sams Cemetery, Rt. 4 at top of Dulls Creek Mountain, Procious, Clay Co., West Virginia.5,8 He was born on February 26, 1936 at West Virginia.8 He died on November 1, 2015 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 79.5,8 He Avis Leonard Burdette, 79, of Procious, went into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston. He was the son of the late Adam Webster "Web" Burdette and Lizzy Maude Starcher Burdette. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Brooks, Clyde, Harold and Blaine, and his only sister, Ola Virginia Burdette Davis, all formerly of Procious. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. As a younger man, Leonard spent his time farming and working for the West Virginia Department of Highways in Clay. Leonard will be laid to rest with a graveside service at Sams Cemetery, Procious. on November 4, 2015.5
