Mrs. McArdle was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of the North Texas Conference Women's Society. She was a farmer and a rancher for many years and was active in the Gainesville Community Circus and a lifetime member of the Gainesville Riding Club. She is survived by her longtime friend Cleveland Dennis and a host of other friends. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the George J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Rev. Jim Dorff and Rev. Frank Lorne will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Frank M.      Walter Thrash Walter Thrash, 80, a native of the Hominy section, died Dec. 19 in St. Paul's Hospital in British Columbia, Canada. Funeral services and burial were held in Vancouver, British Columbia. Thrash was the son of Dr. George H. Thrash Sr., a physician during the Civil War who practiced in the Hominy section until his death. His mother was Elvira Penland Thrash. Thrash left this section in 1898 and was an attorney in Washington state and later in British Columbia. Survivors include two cousins, R. L. Mrs. Cole was a charter member of Hidden Valley Country Club, a great golfer and one of the founding members of Hidden Valley Women's Golf Association. She loved bridge, but much more she was greatly devoted to her family. Mrs. Cole was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and in recent years she belonged to Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. She was a quiet Christian of deep faith. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church with Drs. Tupper Garden and William Klein officiating.
