She will be remembered for her kind heart and the love she shared with her family and friends throughout her life. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Necole Cook and Amber Heenan (Edward); and her brother, Gary W. Smith. Mrs. Austin was employed as a seamstress for H.D. Lee before retiring in 1960. She was active in the Citizens Coalition, enjoyed gardening, and loved to cook and eat. Burial to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend. on June 20, 2002.5
