Cavalier and wife, Kim, of Chester; granddaughter, Jennifer Barbee of Chester; grandsons, Christopher and Andrew Cavalier of Chester; a sister, Margaret Ann Gladson of California; four nieces, Julie Shipley and husband, Red, of Arizona and Jan Ferguson and husband, Alex, of Arizona, Deidre McMurren and Linda McMurren, both of Arizona; two nephews, Eddie McMurren and David McMurren, both of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Mary Hasel and husband, Dick, of Arizona, and Betty Cheatham and husband, Wayne, of Arizona; and many great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 5, 2007, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at the Church of Christ, 4th and Cawson streets, Hopewell, with the Rev. Mark Daly, pastor of Church of Christ, Colonial Heights, and the Rev. Mural Worthy, pastor of the Church of Christ, Hopewell, officiating. Interment will be private. on December 4, 2007.4

     Lewis James Henderson "J.J." Jacobs was born on March 21, 1933 at Williams, Coconino Co., Arizona.2,3 He married Delphina Laquitta Green on June 3, 1961.3 Lewis James Henderson "J.J." Jacobs died on December 12, 2011 at Arizona at age 78.3 He Lewis James "J.J." Jacobs Sr., age 78, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was born March 21, 1933, in Williams, Ariz., to Aubrey Evans Jacobs and Elizabeth Susan McMurn. He was the oldest of five siblings. Lewis served in the United States Navy as a radio operator in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. Around 1960 he became a member of the United States Kingman Jaycees. On June 3, 1961, Lewis married Delphina Laquitta Green. In 1962 he attended vocational schooling and graduated as a General Electronic Technician. Lewis "J.J." was a longtime resident of Arizona working for the United States Postal Service where he retired. Lewis then became employed with the Kingman Daily Miner newspaper. Lewis was full of life; he enjoyed mining and looking for gold in the nearby mountains as well as spending time with his family and at his favorite restaurant, ABC, where he sipped on green tea. Lewis is survived by three sons, Lewis Jacobs Jr. and Michael Ray Jacobs Sr. of Kingman, and Steven Jacobs of California; two brothers, Jake and Bill; two sisters, Sandy and Elma; along with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of Kingman. Lewis is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth McMurn, and father, Aubrey Jacobs. on January 2, 2012.3
