     Opal Natalie Conner Opal Natalie Workman, May 18, 1934 – Nov 20, 2023. Opal Natalie Workman, age 89, passed away peacefully at Vitas Hospice of Rockledge on November 20, 2023. Natalie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 70 years, Fred, her daughter Debbie, both of Merritt Island, and her siblings; Jewel Newman of Ohio and Doug Conner of West Virginia. She finished two years of business college in West Virginia and was later a secretary for an insurance company in Merritt Island for two years. She was a dedicated, loving wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, and going to yard sales. Natalie will be entombed at Florida Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Peace in Rockledge, FL.⁶ She was buried at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Brevard Co., Florida.⁶ She was born on May 18, 1934 at McComas, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^2,6 She married Fred Lee Workman on November 9, 1953 at Tazewell Co., Virginia.^1,2,6 As of November 9, 1953,her married name was Workman.² Opal Natalie Conner died on November 20, 2023 at Rockledge, Brevard Co., Florida, at age 89.⁶

     William Howard "Bill" Scott was born on April 4, 1928 at Leckie, McDowell Co., West Virginia.^2,3 He married Jewel Ellavene Conner, daughter of William Lee "Bill" Conner and Ima Pal Isaac, on February 11, 1953 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^1,2 William Howard "Bill" Scott and Jewel Ellavene Conner were divorced on January 13, 1974.¹

     Gary Dale Scott was born on October 8, 1954.¹ He married Penny Peterman Turner on November 24, 1977.¹ Gary Dale Scott and Penny Peterman Turner were divorced on May 30, 1995.¹ Gary Dale Scott died on December 14, 2012 at Florida at age 58.² He SCOTT, Gary Dale, 58, of Mims, died Friday, December 14, 2012. on December 18, 2012.²

     Adina Ann Newman was born on August 9, 1957 at Ohio.^1,4 She married William Eddie Scott, son of William Howard "Bill" Scott and Jewel Ellavene Conner, on November 18, 1978.^1,3 As of November 18, 1978,her married name was Scott.¹ Adina Ann Newman died on September 20, 2017 at Ohio at age 60.⁴

     John Richard Newman was buried at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, Marion Co., Florida.² He was born on January 21, 1934 at Boston, Massachusetts.² He married Jewel Ellavene Conner, daughter of William Lee "Bill" Conner and Ima Pal Isaac, on December 21, 1985 at Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.^1,2 John Richard Newman died on May 7, 2021 at Palm Bay, Brevard Co., Florida, at age 87.² He John Richard Newman, age 87, of Palm Bay, Florida and formerly of Pataskala, Ohio, died Friday, May 7, 2021 at his home. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 21, 1934. John was retired as a supervisor from ATandT after over 35 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jewel (Conner) Newman; twin sons, Bart A. Newman, Brice, OH and Bret A. Newman, Columbus; son-in-law, William E. (Ed) Scott, Pataskala; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. John was preceded in death by his daughter Adina Scott; stepson, Gary D. Scott and half brother Arthur Bumpers. Veteran U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, John could always be found working on cars making them like new and repairing lawnmowers. Entombment Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. on May 13, 2021.²

     Vera Katherine Mathena was buried at Moreland Memorial Park, 1601 Taylor Avenue, Parkville, Baltimore Co., Maryland.⁸ Her Social Security Number was 233-40-6482.⁹ She was born on November 16, 1926 at McComas, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^9,2 As of circa 1947,her married name was Baldwin.³ She married James Marvin Baldwin circa 1947.^1,3 Vera Katherine Mathena died on October 29, 2003 at Maryland at age 76.⁹

     Thelma Kaleene Mathena was born on March 21, 1929 at Thomas, Tucker Co., West Virginia.¹ She married Lester James Parks on December 20, 1951 at Baltimore, Maryland.^1,7 As of December 20, 1951,her married name was Parks. Thelma Kaleene Mathena died on March 20, 2015 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 85.⁸

     John William Perdue was buried at Piedmont Cemetery, Rt. 11 to Shawsville, turn at nursing home, Rt. 637, about 8 miles on the left, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ He was born on July 15, 1856 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 He married Octavia Docia Carr, daughter of William Oliver Carr and Emeline Conner, on August 30, 1883 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,1 John William Perdue died on February 14, 1934 at age 77.¹

     Ernest Larry Mathena Ernest "Larry" Mathena, 84, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Princeton, WV he was the son of the late Robert and Carlyn Gay (O'Connor) Mathena. His wife, Thelma Mathena, passed away in 1977. He worked for the former Trojan Boat Co. where he served as the vice president. He was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed classical music. Larry proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by three daughters, Mary Hanna wife of Ron of Landisville, Julia Moss of Manchaca, TX, Patricia Mathena of Janesville, WI; three sons, Larry Mathena husband of Ronel of Newport Beach, CA, Daniel Calderon Mathena of Houston, TX, David E. Mathena of Philadelphia, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Frieda Hilgartner, and three brothers, Lonnie, Leroy and Robert Mathena. He was preceded in death by a son, David Andrew Mathena and three sisters, June, Gay and Keleene. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Episcopal Church Memorial Gardens.⁴ He was buried at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church Memorial Garden, 301 St. Thomas Road, Lancaster, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.⁴ He married Thelma Lottie Hewitt.^4,7 Ernest Larry Mathena was born on June 24, 1931 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^2,4 He died on March 20, 2016 at Neffsville, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, at age 84.⁴
