(now Craig Co.), Virginia; His gravestone has a birth year of 1850.^1,2,3,4 He married Laura Katherine "Lora" Hancock, daughter of Stephen Andrew Hancock and Susan F. Pence, on February 26, 1880 at Craig Co., Virginia; Laura lists her parents as Stephen and Susan Hancock on her marriage license.^11,1,2 Paul Newton Elmore died on August 23, 1924 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 75.^1,5,2,3,4 He Paul Elmore, a former Craig citizen, son of the late Rev. A. J. Elmore and a brother of Mr. C. W. Elmore of New Castle, died at his home in Roanoke on Saturday, August 23rd, 1924, after a long illness, aged seventy-four years. The cause of death was bladder trouble and complications. He is survived by his wife and eight children. Mr. Elmore had been living in Roanoke for the past twenty-five years. circa August 26, 1924.⁵

     Abigail Olive Richardson Presumed to be buried beside her husband Henry under an unreadable stone in Head of the River Cemetery, Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia. She was born circa 1770 at Nantmeal, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. She married Henry Iddings on December 11, 1789 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ As of December 11, 1789,her married name was Iddings. Abigail Olive Richardson died in 1845 at Floyd Co., Virginia.

     Carolyn Joyce Bower Carolyn Conner, 81, of Riner, Virgina, passed away on April 6, 2024 surrounded by her family. Carolyn was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman and a source of inspiration to all. She was a woman dedicated to her faith, and she instilled in those closest to her the importance of family, hard work, and above all else, following the Lord in every situation of life. Carolyn was born on May 17, 1942 to Mary & Marvin Bower in Montgomery County, VA. She attended Check High School where she met the love of her life, Clyde Edsel Conner. They were married in Christiansburg, Virginia on January 23, 1960. Clyde and Carolyn were married for over 64 years and had four children, Edsel, Brenda, Kevin, and Garrett. Being a devoted wife and mother was one of the most important parts of Carolyn’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom, and was supportive, kind, and quick-witted. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, James Marvin Bower and Mary Edna Underwood. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Edsel Conner of Riner, VA; her four children, Rev. Edsel Conner (Judy) of Check, VA, Brenda Tamondong (Liborio) of Greenville, NC, Kevin Conner (Christi) of Radford, VA, and Garrett Conner (Susan) of Dublin, VA; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery.⁴ She was buried at Wilson Cemetery, Daniel's Run Road (Rt. 661), Locust Grove, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁴ She was born on May 17, 1942 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,5,4 She married Clyde Edsel Conner, son of Isaac Raymond Conner and Eleanor Ruth Clower, on January 23, 1960 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,6,7,4 As of January 23, 1960,her married name was Conner. Carolyn Joyce Bower died on April 6, 2024 at Virginia at age 81.⁴

     Paula Ann Goad On Thursday, September 4, 2014 Paula Goad Conner of Roanoke,went to be with the Lord in the arm's of her daughter. She is proceeded in death by her Father, Dean Goad, a Special Aunt, Linda Eanes as well as other family members. Survivors are, but not limited to, Mother, Geneva Eanes Goad Flowers, Stepfather, David Flowers, Daughter, Ashley Nicole Conner, Son, Edsel Conner Jr, Sisters, Wendy Dee and Angel Annell and 7 Grand kids. Despite her struggles with Multiple Sclerosis, etc, Paula fought until her last breath. Paula had a contagious smile and was a gem we will always treasure in our hearts. Special thanks to the ICU Department at Montgomery Regional Hospital, especially, Jordon Mann.⁵ She was born on March 1, 1966 at Radford, Virginia.^2,4 She married Edsel Ray Conner Sr., son of Clyde Edsel Conner and Carolyn Joyce Bower, on September 2, 1983 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 As of September 2, 1983,her married name was Conner.² Paula Ann Goad and Edsel Ray Conner Sr. were divorced on May 9, 1997 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.³ Paula Ann Goad died on September 4, 2014 at Virginia at age 48.⁵

     Abigail Iddings was buried at Hall Cemetery, Rt. 680, 1.4 miles from Rt. 860, 0.5 miles into a corn field, Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁵ She was born on March 21, 1811 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,3,4,5 She Their fathers gave them permission to marry. The handwritten note stated, “this is to certify that you are hereby directed to grant David Hall liens to marry my daughter Abigail, given under my hand this the 16th of July 1831 signed Henry Iddings.” David’s stated, "To the clerk of the court, you are hereby directed to grant David Hall liens under my hand to be married to Abigail Iddings. Signed by John Hall, Witness by Charles Hall”. This Charles Hall is believed to be David’s uncle who married Elizabeth Iddings. A marriage bond was obtained on the 21 day of July 1831, by which David Hall and Charles Hall agreed to be bound to the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to the Commonwealth of Virginia to obtain a marriage license. The ceremony was performed in Floyd Co. by Michael Howry, Minister of the Gospel. on July 16, 1831.³ She married David A. Hall, son of John L. Hall and Sarah "Sally" Pate, on July 28, 1831 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,3,4 As of July 28, 1831,her married name was Hall. Abigail Iddings died on April 1, 1904 at Simpsons, Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 93.^2,3,4,5

     Victor Eugene Nichols was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park (also known as Mountain View Burial Park), 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.³ His Social Security Number was 224-46-5898.⁵ He was born on May 10, 1937 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^2,3,4,5 He married Ava Lois Conner, daughter of Isaac Raymond Conner and Eleanor Ruth Clower, on June 24, 1960 at Adney Gap, Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,6,2 Victor Eugene Nichols died on February 13, 1969 at East Hartford, Hartford Co., Connecticut, at age 31.^3,7
