     Barrie Marshall Bunn Barrie Marshall Bunn of Troutville, Virginia passed away at home on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Barrie was born on September 18, 1945 in Bedford, Virginia to Delmas and Madaline Bunn. He is a Graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and obtained a Bachelor of Business Degree from National Business College. He enjoyed being active in the community through his businesses (Buchanan Texaco and Barrie's Exxon), service on the Botetourt County School Board, and supported recreational and high school sports. Barrie also enjoyed spending time with family, fishing in the Outer Banks and watching college and professional football. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lois; his sons Devin (Rebekah) and Justin (Krystal Blanton). He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Kinzley and Jackson Bunn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delmas and Madaline; and his brothers John Bunn and Leland Calvin.      Michael Joseph "Mike" Kolnok Jr. Michael (Mike) J. Kolnok, Jr., 80, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, November 27. He was born in Rahway, New Jersey on September 9, 1944 and was the son of the late Michael J. Kolnok (Mickey) and Elizabeth Kolnok (Lee). Mike graduated from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC. He served in the United States Army and bravely fought in the Vietnam War. He retired from Nationwide Insurance Company. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Conner Kolnok. He had two sons, Michael J. Kolnok III (Elizabeth, wife) and Matthew W. Kolnok (Jeanette, wife). Mike had one granddaughter, Alexandra (Allie) Kolnok and two step grandchildren, Donovan Keen and Jessica Robey. A witness saw Todd T. Johnson Jr., 47, of Salem leap from the roughly 160-foot-high bridge along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Roanoke County near Vinton, said county police Lt. Chuck Mason. Police were notified about 1 p.m. Officers and rescue personnel pulled Johnson from the river. He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and died later. on August 3, 2006.⁵ He Todd T. Johnson, Jr., 46, of Salem, passed away August 1, 2006. on August 5, 2006.¹

     Mary Wilmuth Walton Mary Walton Janney, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Arnold Edward Janney; son, Curtis Edward Janney; parents, Alonzo Curtis Walton & Mamie Conner Walton; brothers, Elwin Walton, Percy Walton, and John Walton; sister, Annalee Conner; and a very special friend, Alfred Ratliff. Mary was a faithful member of Salem Church Head of the River Primitive Baptist. She served as clerk for many years. She was a caregiver almost all of her life. Being the middle child of 7, she helped her mom take care of her younger siblings. When she married Arnold, they moved in with his parents and she cared for them, while also caring for her own children. When her Mom received a diagnosis of cancer, she moved her in and cared for her for 8 years. Mary was an excellent seamstress and cook. She sewed for her family as well as others in the community, including prom dresses. She was very crafty, if you ever visited her home, you would see her work displayed throughout. She stayed busy with her hands up until the end. She made the best green beans, mac-n-cheese, and coconut caramel pies. She was the most kind and patient person you would ever meet. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy and her son-in-law, Paul Haynes; two granddaughters, Amanda Boyd and Katy Haynes; two great-grandchildren, Levi Glosh and Adde Boyd; one brother, Ezra Walton (Jane); one sister, Jean Rorrer (Sebert); one sister-in-law, Joyce Walton; step-grandchildren, Amy Goodrich and Sarah Cluck; and an adopted daughter in love, Alfreda Cadd.
