Norma Patricia Knowles Patricia Knowles "Pat" Horne, 67, went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2018, her 49th wedding anniversary, at a Roanoke hospital with family by her side. Pat was a former Miss Montgomery County. She taught for The Floyd Ward School of Dance for several decades and to several generations. She was honored with an invitation to perform a portion of Swan Lake at the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Pat was asked to create and teach in the dance department at Ferum College and did so for many years. In her "free time" she volunteered with Christiansburg High School, Blacksburg High School, Shawsville High School and the Christiansburg Community Theatre as choreographer and occasional performer with a beautiful singing voice. She retired after over three decades but could not stay away from doing what she loved and taught "her little ones" basic ballet at the Christiansburg Recreational Center until her death. Pat also began working in the family business, Horne Funeral Home & Crematory, in 1987 and continued to her death. She served as Corporate Secretary-Treasurer and received, served, and comforted others during their time of need. Pat was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Colonists, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Christiansburg Rescue quad and Fire Department. Pat is survived by her husband of 49 years Richard H. "Dickie" Horne, her daughter and son-in-law; Dr. H. Leveta Horne and Eric Brown of Orlando FL, her son and daughter-in-law; Brian R. H. and Amy Horne of Christiansburg, and four granddaughters, Rachel, Grayce, Quinn, and Makenna all of Christiansburg, her sister and brother-in-law Katinka and Dale Hawley and their sons Jeff and John, her brother Mike Knowles, special friends Terry and Ed Wilson, and her beloved pets. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.5 She was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.5,6 She was born on July 25, 1950 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.2,3,4,6 As of March 30, 1969,her married name was Horne.3 She married Rev. Donald Gordon Earles Donald G. Earles, 97 of Riner, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Lois Walker Earles; daughter, Kathy Earles; son, Jimmy Earles; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Earles; grandchildren, Ursula Woolwine and Jason Earles; great-grandson, Tray Turley; and siblings, Dennie Earles and Dorothy Earles. Donald was a very loving and caring father who was deeply loved by all. He had a strong Christian faith. He served in the United States Army in World War II. He is survived by his sons & daughter-in-law, Johnny Earles and Joey and Terri Earles; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Gene Furrow and Vickie and Kenny Waller; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Interment will follow in the Farris Cemetery with Military Rites by the Army National Guard. The family would like to extend their thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and the staff of Heritage Hall with a special thank you to Kaitlin Lucas, April Jarels, and Ashley Bland.5 He was buried at Farris Cemetery, Riner, Montgomery Co., Virginia.5 He was born on March 12, 1926 at Belfast, Allegany Co., New York.2 He married Lois Walker on September 7, 1946 at Floyd Co., Virginia.3,6,5 Donald Gordon Earles died on October 12, 2023 at Virginia at age 97.5

She was a long-time member of Belview United Methodist Church, loved her flowers, gardening, flea markets, Goodwill, collectibles, board games, cards, and Bingo, had a unique sense of humor, enjoyed taking care of and giving to others, and most of all was proud of her family. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Stonewall Cemetery in Floyd. on May 14, 2021.4
