Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton and Helen Smith of Gaffney, S.C., and David ("Mick") and Mary ("Cindy") Smith of Copper Hill; three grandchildren, Michael Canaless and Maria Mathis of Radford and David Smith of Copper Hill; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Eileen Altice of Chesapeake, Ethel Wilson, Vivian Conner, Rebecca Keenan, Betty Brown of Roanoke, and one brother, Vaughn Ferris of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Dale Bowman and the Rev. Branan Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was employed for over 30 years for UPS Freight, formerly Overnite Transportation. Services will be held at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011. Pastor Shawn Tanner and Pastor Marty Moyer will officiate. Interment will follow in the Copper Hill Cemetery. Thompson, of Roanoke, and Dorothy Greenway, of Troutville. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park. on April 26, 2009.³
