It was there that she met her high school sweetheart, Bill, and they began their life-long journey together, culminating in a marriage of 65 years. Bill and Betty were married on November 17, 1950, just prior to Bill's departure for active duty in Korea. Upon Bill's return, the couple moved to Coral Gables, Fla., where Betty held numerous positions at Coral Gables Saving and Loan in support of Bill's attendance at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
