Charles was a barber for eight years in Floyd, he worked for N & W for 15 years, and owned and operated the Check country store for 12 years and worked at Lab Corp. for 9 ½ years. Born in Check, Va. June 7, 1946, he is preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. "Charlie" and Evie Board Wilson; brother, Melvin Edward Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Moran Wilson; sons, Charles Linwood Jr. of Floyd, and James Edward and daughter-in-law, Karen P. Wilson, of Check. Interment to follow at Restvale Cemetery. A special thanks to Dr. Nelson Greene and his nurse Rhonda for the wonderful, compassionate care over the years and allowing him to be able to stay at home as much as possible, thanks for the care given on 3 west and especially the wonderful care given on 5 west especially Kim Putman at Lewis Gale Medical Center. A special thanks to Janice Conner, Brenda Huff and Anna Hale for staying at the hospital for his wife. on January 23, 2017.2

David will be fondly remembered by his ESTES family and co-workers. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family. Funeral services will be at Oakey's North Chapel 10 a.m. Wednesday September 6, 2006 with the Rev. Rick Jarrell officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.
