She had lived in Mansfield for the past 48 years and was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church and Ontario Senior Citizens. Her husband, Ralph B. Stowell, is deceased. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Don (Mary Lou) Yeager; one sister, Mary Greever of Bristol, Tenn; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. One sister is deceased. on January 5, 1989.⁵

     Mary Lou Stowell ONTARIO - Mary Lou Yeager spoke in the language of smiles. It was the prettiest thing she wore. Her countenance was a glimpse into the spirit of a social woman, who never complained, and had a beautiful outlook on life and those she loved. Her smile turned celestial, as Mary Lou passed into the Lord’s presence Wednesday evening February 11, 2015 from Primrose Retirement Community. She was 88. Born January 5, 1927 in Newark to Ralph and Louise (Harmon) Stowell, Mary Lou was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1944, and attended The Ohio State University. She was working at Fanny Farmer’s when a recently discharged Navy veteran repeatedly bought rationed candy for a friend, and later sought her out at a Sr. High-Canton McKinley football game. That Navy vet, Donald Wayne Yeager, won her hand in marriage July 11, 1946. Mary Lou stayed home to raise her children, relationships were vital to her. She maintained old high school friendships by establishing a bridge club that she helped host over 60 years. She added bridge meetings, weekly and semi-weekly, as she found more friends and opportunities to play cards, including the Ontario Senior Citizens Center and Mansfield Liederkranz. Once the children were raised, Mary Lou served as an Associate with Lazarus, working nearly 20 years at the Richland Mall department store. A member of Ontario United Methodist Church, she supported her congregation with faithful attendance in worship and church activities, and was so very fond of her church family. She and Don were avid supporters of Ontario High School athletics and together enjoyed watching The Ohio State University Buckeyes and Cleveland professional teams. Mary Lou submitted articles of local interest to the Tribune Courier and enjoyed journaling: she kept volumes and volumes of diaries – 65 years worth – chronicling the life of a woman who will be remembered for her honesty and her genuine smile. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Don Yeager; their daughter and son-in-law Suzanne & Ronald Smith of Pinckney, MI; a daughter-in-law Laurie Yeager of North Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren Alyssa (fiancé Richard Nieves) Yeager and Kimberlee Yeager; and her church family.      Donald Wayne Yeager Don Yeager persevered, worked hard, and achieved success – though he would never describe himself as successful. By edifying others, he knew success was contagious. Don Yeager was an encourager. Don Yeager passed into the Lord’s presence Saturday evening February 20, 2021, from Primrose Retirement Community with family by his side. He was 98. Born Donald Wayne Yeager June 15, 1922 in Morrow County to Carlton and Viola Yeager. His mother died when Don was 3-years-old. Years in the Worthington Methodist Children’s Home were followed by years in foster care until he was brought into the Nikolaus family home. He graduated from Johnsville High School in 1940, and then served in the Civilian Conservation Corps until joining the US Navy. As a Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class, Don served his country aboard the USS San Juan participating in nearly every major naval battle of the Pacific theater. Upon returning stateside, Don was buying rationed candy for a friend at Fanny Farmer’s when a beautiful young worker there named Mary Lou Stowell caught his eye. Don later sought her out at a Sr. High-Canton McKinley football game and eventually won her hand in marriage July 11, 1946. A true gentleman, Don was committed to serving and loving his wife. Don worked 43 years as a receiving inspector for Tappan and retired in 1984. He was a Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of The Free Accepted Masons of Ohio for over 70 years. He was an avid supporter of Ontario High School athletics and enjoyed all sports. He was dedicated to the Ontario community and took pride in remembering names and faces of those he met. Most importantly, Don truly cared about what was going on in the lives of Ontario students and was known for encouraging multiple generations of athletes. He was also an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and Cleveland professional teams. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Suzanne & Ronald Smith of Gulf Shores, AL; daughter-in-law Laurie Yeager of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren Alyssa (Richard) Nieves and Kimberlee (Brian) Zeller all of Cape Coral, FL; great-granddaughter Elliott Nieves; his Nikolaus family; and his church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeff Yeager, loving wife of 68 years Mary Lou Yeager, and five siblings. Military honors will be performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. FT. MYERS, FL - D. Jeffrey Yeager, 65, passed away May 11th, 2013 after a courageous 2½ year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born February 12th, 1948 in Mansfield, Ohio to Donald W. and Mary Lou (Stowell) Yeager. Jeff graduated from Ontario High School in 1966 and Bluffton University in 1970 with a B.A. Degree in History. He moved to the Ft. Myers, Florida area in 1980. During his career, Jeff held various management positions with 7-Eleven and Hess Oil Company. Later in his career, Jeff began substitute teaching in Ft. Myers area school systems. Jeff loved being a teacher, especially in the subjects of history and geography. He particularly enjoyed relating to all the students on a daily basis and was able to touch many lives through his time as a substitute teacher. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 31 years, Laurie; his loving daughters, Alyssa and Kimmie; and his faithful pups, Emma and Lilli as well as his granddog, Lola; also surviving are his parents, Don and Mary Lou Yeager of Ontario; his mother and father-in- law, Audrey and Carl Enberg of Punta Gorda, Florida; his sister, Suzanne (Ron)Smith of Pinckney, Michigan; brother-in-law, Denis (Dondrea) Enberg of the Chicago area; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Louise Stowell and brother-in-law, Wayne Enberg. Jeff was the ultimate "Cheer Dad" and attended numerous cheer events and competitions with his family over the past20 years. He was his daughters’ biggest fan. While Jeff enjoyed all sports, he was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. on June 6, 2013.²

     Rebecca Jane "Becky" Hall Death of Mrs. Conner. Rebecca J. Conner was born near Locust Grove, Floyd County, Va., on August 2nd, 1838, where she grew up to mature womanhood and departed this life, December 4th, 1912, making her stay on earth 74 years, 4 months and 2 days. She was twice married. First to Henry L. Vest, of Floyd. Co., Va, to this union were born 3 children, Mrs. B. H. Eanes, of Terrys Fork, C. W. Vest, of Floyd and Marion L. Vest, who preceded her to the spirit world when only 3 years old. Her second marriage was to Wm. N. Conner, of Montgomery county Va., and to this union were born 5 children, Mrs. J. J. Vest, of Alleghaney Springa, James E. Conner, Mrs. Joseph Whitlow and Noah A.Conner, all of West Va. and Giles E. Conner who died when only 8 months old. Early in life her heart was touched by the refining influence of the Holy spirit, which ever shone in her beautiful christian character. She had been a consistent member of the M. E. church for 45 years. She won the admiration and confldence of all who came in contacy with her. Her oldest son said, "I believe she was a devoted christian." Her life, her faith in God and in the power of Jesus' blood made her gloriously triumphant over death. As she was nearing the end of her earthly journey she said "I am going to rest, I hear the angels." She rejoiced to know that all her children were prepared to meet her where parting will be no more. On the 5th of December, 1912, her funeral was preached by Rev. W. A. Warner, and her remains were laid to rest at Kelleyville, W.Va., to await the resurrection of the just. He was employed in the methods and standards department when he retired in 1966. After retiring, he was employed as a driver for the Hebble Funeral Home until 1985. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, and was a soloist for more than 60 years. He was a life member of Battle Creek Lodge 12 F&AM, and member of the Kellogg 25-Year Club, the Breakfast Club and the United Cereal, Bakery and Food Workers Local 374. He was a former member of a local barbershop quartet, and had appeared in minstrel shows. He also had played baseball for Kellogg's and General Foods many years ago. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, the former Mildred M. Poff; a daughter, Mary Jane Sofiak of Bradenton, Fla; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. on December 3, 1986.⁹

He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II and was a pilot on the B-29 bombers, having flown missions in China, Burma, India and Marianna Islands.      Melvin Edward "Mel" Stratmeyer Mr. Melvin Edward Stratmeyer was born in Peoria, Illinois on August 30, 1942 and he passed away peacefully on October 3, 2021. His parents were Amos and Amelia Stratmeyer. He was raised in Elkhart, Indiana. He attended Purdue University where he received his Bachelors, Masters and PhD. In 1966, he married Michele Sofiak. In 1969, they moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland where Mel took a job as a research scientist/chemist for the federal government. He worked for the federal government until 2020 when he retired as Branch Chief of Medical Devices. He attended the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, Maryland where he was active in their Wednesday Men's Club and the New Horizons Group. Mel was also very active in the New Market Lions Club, the Elks, the Cotillion Club and other scientific organizations. Mel is survived by his wife Michele (Mikki) of 55 years. They had a son Erik, who died in 2017. Sunday following a heart attack at his residence. Mr. Replogle returned to his home Saturday afternoon from the Clark Tructractor plant where he had been employed since Jan. 11, 1937, and was in seemingly good health while he worked about his lawn and garden. He was stricken Saturday night. He was born May 7, 1904, in Battle Creek Creek, the son of Charles Henry and Anna (Giddings) Replogle, and had lived here his entire life with the exception of a few years in Detroit, during which time he attended the University of Detroit and graduated from the Detroit Institute of Technology. He worker in Detroit for a short time before returning to Battle Creek, where he was employed by the Battle Creek Bread Wrapping Machine Co., and later the Clark Tructractor Co. He was a a member of the Engineer's club. Mr. Replogle was married May 30, 1929, to Frances Poff, who survives. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and from the General Motors Institute. He entered the United States Army on May 19, 1953 at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois and was honorably discharged on May 1, 1955 at Ft. Hamilton, New York, having attained the rank of Corporal. Chuck served overseas in France and Germany. Chuck owned and operated several business's and was a partner in the AAA Sanitation Company with his brother John. He was a member of the Republican National Committee and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Charles was blessed with 3 daughters; Anna Cole, Voni Kipp and Julie Burdette and 2 sons; Charles Replogle and Daniel Replogle; He was also survived by 9 grandsons and granddaughters and several great-grandchildren.
