Clinton St. He belonged to First Baptist Church. Surviving are his mother, a brother and two sisters; Byron S., Largo, Fla; Mrs. Ada M. Kaley, Flemington; and Mrs. William K. Dauber, Lock Haven. on September 21, 1962.5

Chatham, 17 West Clinton St., died at 5:05 p.m. yesterday in the C and R Unit of the Lock Haven Hopital, where she had been a patient three weeks, after three weeks in the hospital. Mrs. Kaley's health has been failing for eight years. She was born in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late William A. Chatham and Mrs. Mary E. Chatham who survives. Following her marriage, Mrs. Kaley lived in Renovo a short time, then for three years in Harrisburg, and 19 years in Philadelphia where her husband was an employe of the Reading Railroad. They returned to Lock Haven in 1950, and at that time Mrs. Chatham began her residence with the Kaleys. Mr. Kaley preceded his wife in death in 1961. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Chatham are a brother, Byron S. Chatham, Venice, Fla; and a sister, Mrs. William K. Dauber, Lock Haven. Mrs. Kaley worked for Pennwoven Co. six years as a young woman. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Faithful Workers Class of the church school. on May 16, 1966.7

Mr. Kaley was a Renovo native, son of William O. and Lydia Kaley. He had lived here 11 years, having returned to Clinton County from Philadelphia where he worked 19 years as a machinist for the Reading Railroad. He retired 12 years ago because of a heart ailment. Prior to going to Philadelphia, Mr. Kaley worked for the Railway Express in this vicinity, and at the Pennsylvania Railroad shops in Renovo. He was a member of First Baptist Church. His wife, Ada Chatham Kaley, survives; a brother, John, Cogan Station R.D. 2; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cole and Mrs. Erma Hadley, Meadville. on September 1, 1961.8

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. From the Fred B. Leavy Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Timblin officiating. Interment will be made in the Congress Hills Cemetery. on December 17, 1971.3

     Esther M. Cole Esther Cole Schmidt, 90, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at her daughter's home in Northumberland. She was a former resident of Mountain Laurel Nursing Home, Clearfield and Fulmer's Personal Care Home, Lock Haven. Esther was predeceased by her first husband, Ashley Rishel and her second husband, Clifford Schmidt. Esther retired from the former Town and Country Dept. Store, Williamsport after 17 years of service. Previously she worked in real estate and for the New York Telephone in Buffalo. In Williamsport she was a travel guide for 15 years arranging bus trips for senior citizens groups in Williamsport and the surrounding area. She was also a home health aide assisting house bound elderly and disabled. Esther was a 1938 graduate of the Clearfield High School and a charter member of the Eastern Star. Born October 26, 1919 in Surveyor, Clearfield County, she was the daughter of Frank and Sadie Chatham Cole. She was the last living member of her generation of three brothers and one sister. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen L. (Rusty) Kennedy of Northumberland; son, Rodney E. (Ellen) Rishel of Clearfield; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. Esther was predeceased by a son, Dennis A. Rishel, Williamsport; brothers, Dean Cole, Smethport, Kenneth Cole, Lock Haven, Paul Cole, Buffalo; sister, Olive Cole Hauck, Smethport. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911-915 West Third Street, with Pastor Thomas Henderson officiating. No visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Memorial Park.2 Her Social Security Number was 176-07-5374.6 She was buried at Twin Hills Memorial Park, 3332 Lycoming Mall Road, Muncy, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.2,7 She married Clifford Christian "Cliff" Schmidt.4,2 Her married name was Schmidt.
