     Norma June Snider Norma Snider Ruble, 78, entered her eternal rest on Friday, August 30, 2024. She was born in Christiansburg, VA on October 28, 1945, to the late Thomas Lee Snider (Tom) and Agnes Epperly Snider. Norma was predeceased by her husband, Tom Ruble. She was also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Byron Ruble and Walter Ruble; a niece, Sherri Snider; and a nephew, Scott Ruble. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Chad Ruble (Melissa); stepdaughters, Tina Ruble and Tammie Thomas (Bob); grandchildren, Haley Ruble, Ethan Ruble (Myra Barco-Calderon), Trenton Ruble, Acacia Ethridge (Steven), Gabriele Joki (Brian), Jessica Thomas, Sarah McGuiness (Matt), Sasha Garrison (Tim Poling), and Lary Garrison III: and great-grandchildren, Silas Ethridge, Lillian Ethridge, Spencer Joki, Miles Joki, Magnolia McGuiness. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Moore (Jack); brothers, Lee Snider (Kim) and Nathan Snider (Margaret); several nieces and nephews; and many cousins. Norma was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Christiansburg, VA during her formative years. When she moved to Roanoke, after college, she became a member of South Roanoke UMC. She worshipped and served there for 54 years. She served in various capacities and was a blessing to many that she visited regularly, providing transportation, food, and encouragement. Norma graduated from Christiansburg High School in 1964. She remained close to her classmates and participated in planning their 60th Class Reunion. She obtained a BS degree in Home Economics from Radford University (RU) as well as a Master's degree in Education. She taught her entire 32-year career at Garden City Elementary School in Roanoke, VA. Norma met the love of her life, Tom Ruble ("Ruble"), in Roanoke. He was from Canton, OH and an employee with AEP. They were married 44 years, until his passing in 2014. They traveled extensively around the world attending Lion's Club events. "Ruble" was an avid golfer and though Norma did not play golf, he instilled in her a love of the game. She was privileged to attend three Practice Rounds at the Masters Golf Tournament in recent years. Norma was a member of the Alpha Eta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for 42 years. She was especially proud when her granddaughter, Haley, graduated RU, began teaching and became a member of the Society. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Wiid and his staff at Carilion, Friendship Transitions, and Good Samaritan Hospice for their excellent care and support.5 She was born on October 28, 1945 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.1,2,5 She married Thomas William "Tom" Ruble on January 24, 1970 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.4,1,2,6,5 As of January 24, 1970,her married name was Ruble.2 Norma June Snider died on August 30, 2024 at Virginia at age 78.5

He was born in Canton, Ohio, August 19, 1937, and has lived in the Roanoke Valley since 1968. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Merle Ruble and Julia Ball Ruble; his mother- and father-in-law, Agnes and Tom Snider; nephew, Scott Ruble; and niece, Sherri Snider. Nathan (Margaret) Snider; and numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Clark Vandergrift, Roy and Jean Main. Tom was retired from AEP after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Edgewood Lions Club since October of 1975, where he served in many capacities including two terms as District Governor of Multiple District 24-E. He served his country faithfully for two years in the United States Navy. For 44 years, Tom was a member of the South Roanoke United Methodist Church where he was a trustee for many years. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Joseph Austin and the medical and nursing staff at RMH CCU, PCU, and Palliative Care units. on May 30, 2014.4

Mr. Mullin was born on February 2, 1936 in Princeton, W.VA. After serving in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, he married Clara Lee Conner in 1957. The Mullins moved to Jacksonville, FL where Jack began work at Maxwell House Coffee. Later, he began his career as a diesel mechanic with Ryder and Caterpillar. He retired as shop foreman from Overnite Transportation, then moved to Yulee, FL in 2000 where he enjoyed working on his property and helping raise his two grandsons. Mr. Mullin is survived by his wife Clara Lee Mullin, his son Henry Mullin Jr., his daughter Michelle Smith, his son-in-law Sean Smith; and two grandsons Dalton Maddox and Gage Maddox. He is preceded in death by his mother Euva Pennington, his brother Ronald Mullin; and his nephew Carl Mullin. Following the service he'll be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.4 He was buried at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Duval Co., Florida.3,5,4 He was born on February 2, 1936 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.6,1,7,3,5,4 He married Clara Lee Conner, daughter of A.
