He was born on September 20, 1929 in Keysville, VA to the late Ruth Lee Hartrell Boothe and Floyd Gregory Boothe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Lee Boothe. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Hazelton of Riverdale, MD; niece, Suzane Ralph of Melbourne, FL; other nieces and nephews of Richmond, VA; and brother, Floyd Boothe of Richmond, VA. He was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church in Collinsville, VA for 43 years from 1973 until 2016 and was an ordained Deacon of the church. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post #6, Rocky Mount, VA for 34 years from 1982 – 2016. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, 1951-1952 and was in the Army Reserve from 1953-1958. Mr. Boothe was a retired field manager for the Woodmen of the World Fraternal Life Insurance Society. He worked for the Woodmen for 22 years until retirement and was a member for 52 years from 1964-2016. Mr. Boothe was a member and the founder of Fork Mountain Rescue Squad where he was the first president and first captain and was also a member of the fire department.
