He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, V.F.F. and Disabled Veterans of America. Robert was a member of South City Christian Church of Lake Charles. He is survived by his wife, Rose Poff; daughter, Peggy Moots and husband John; three granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his two daughters, a son, a brother and a sister. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, in Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor David Veillon will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday. on July 20, 2010.2

Graveside service: Thursday in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Known to everyone as Jackie, Gladys Powell Walker was born May 25, 1926, in Salem, Va., where she was raised. Jackie had one brother and four sisters. She met her husband, Ronald Walker, when he was stationed in Virginia while in the Navy. After marrying Ronald, she came to Texas and lived in the Metroplex. Jackie had two primary loves in her life, her family and animals, especially cats. She was a strong supporter of the Humane Society. Jackie was also a gifted artistic person who loved to decorate, make crafts and work with plants. She was the core who held her family together with her love and her gifts.
