He was predeceased by his parents, Mae and Silas Hall; daughter, Debra Ann Hall; and sisters, Sylvia Atkins, Nancy Conner and Zinnia Hartley. Surviving family includes his wife of 52 years, Carol Holland Hall; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Robin Hall; daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Eddie Smith; sisters, Juanita Lancaster, Jean Hammond and Polly Pruett; brothers, Floyd, Billy, Maynard and Woodrow Hall; special pet, Mindy; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Roanoke with Pastor Jeff Keaton, of Parkway House of Prayer, and Mr. Robert Clark, Chaplain, of the Roanoke East Gideon's Camp, officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She married the love of her life Roger A. Holland on December 23, 1961. Roanoke Garment Factory employed her for 15 years. Mrs. Holland leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 45 years, Roger Holland; two loving daughters, Kathy Moats of Vinton, Tammy Smith and her husband, Chad of Rocky Mount. Also surviving are two loving sisters, Claudine Shepherd and Joyce Hackley and her husband, Norman, both of Roanoke, a special sister-in-law, Carol Hall; four adoring grandchildren, Kayla, Beth, and Christi Moats, all of Vinton and Johnathan Smith of Rocky Mount and her favorite canine companion, Mindy. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Evergreen Burial Park officiated by the Rev. Sammy Caldwell. The family extends thanks to Carol Hall for her support to the family through the trying times. on December 13, 2006.1

Her Christian faith compelled her to works of compassion and giving wherever she lived and worked. She passed this legacy on to her children, a son, Jeff Jinnett, of Knoxville, Tenn; three daughters, Jaki Day, of Rome, Ga., Robin Porter, of Wilmington, N.C., and Jill Daniel, of Reidsville, N.C. She is also survived by her three sisters, Carol Beall, of Alabama, Janine Stone, of Virginia, and Randi Sutphin, of Florida; and one brother, David Sumner, of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Austin and Schuyler Porter, Aimee Day and Shannon Himes, Jeremy Jinnett, Jessica Harrell, Joy Thomas and Caroline Daniel; and four great-grandchildren, Bethany and Lily Harrell, and Braden and Abrey Thomas. She deeply loved her family and was deeply loved by her family. on October 8, 2012.3
