She worked at the Lobster House and then became a hostess at Howard Johnsons before retiring to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Catania; and a son, Frank Hancock. She leaves behind her three daughters, Carol Carmon of Linden, Doris Boahn and her husband, John, of Raeford, and Brenda Garofone and her husband, John, of Fayetteville; two sisters, Margaret Semmones of Spartanburg, S.C., and Marjorie Wade of Roanoke; a brother, Ernest Douglas Jr. of Princeton, W. Va; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov 2, 2009, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey St., Fayetteville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Faymont Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Evans officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lafayette Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville. on November 1, 2009.3
