Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at 1 pysvernd e.m. at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. on September 6, 2002.3

     Edith Truman Edith Truman Okes, 80, of Beaver, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, in a local hospital following a long illness. Born March 16, 1920, at Beckley, she was the daughter of the late A.J. and Annie L. Wilberforce Truman. Mrs. Okes was retired from the Raleigh County Board of Education, where she was a secretary for Shady Spring High School. She was a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Greystone Inn in Beaver. She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit K. Okes, on July 6, 1998; two sisters, Doris Houck and Gladys White; and two brothers, Alfred and Arthur Truman. Survivors include three sons, Gary D. Okes and his wife, Terri, of Richmond, Va., John R. Okes and his wife, Ellen, of Beckley, and Thomas D. Okes and his wife, Misty, of Beaver; two sisters, Evelyn Blymyer of Palmdale, Calif., and Mildred Francisco of Beckley; and six grandchildren, Brandon S. Okes, Justin D. Okes, John Morgan Okes, Tara M. Okes, B.J. Okes, and Steven K. Okes. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Beaver United Method-ist Church with the Rev. Virgil C. Cook and the Rev. Allen Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley. He was predeceased by his father, Wilbert Whittle Pruett. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Louise Weeks; son, Michael David Pruett, Shawsville; brother, Lewie Steven (Twila) Cooper, Salem; sisters, Charlotte Ann (Ronnie) Bivens, Roanoke County, Helen Renee Harrison, Salem, Judy Dianne Pruett, Salem, Velda Deane (Curtis) LaPrade; grandson, Michael Shawn Pruett, Salem; several nieces and nephews and a special great-nephew, Jamey Davis, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 24, 2007, 11 a.m. at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Brian Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 9 p.m and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. on October 22, 2007.2
