     Doris Jean Mickey was born on August 13, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 As of March 25, 1972,her married name was Aldridge.² She married Donald Milton Aldridge, son of Billy Warren Aldridge and Julia Elizabeth Bright, on March 25, 1972 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,1 Doris Jean Mickey died on May 31, 2017 at Virginia at age 64.¹ She Doris Mickey Aldridge, 64, of Roanoke, Va., loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Known to loved ones as Doris Jean, she was born on August 13, 1952, in Roanoke, Va. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Lucille S. Mickey; and her sister, Ruth Mickey Montgomery. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Donald M. Aldridge; her two sons, Jason E. Aldridge, and Bradley K. Aldridge and his wife, Whitney; and her grandson, Hudson Ross Aldridge. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Renate and H.D. Kemp; her sister-in-law, Julia Kay Woodard; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Her greatest joy was being a mother and new grandmother. Doris was a devoted member of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church for many years. She was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Roanoke Memorial Hospital's School of X-Ray Technology. Doris had a lengthy career in the medical field. The family would like to thank Doris' caretaker, Doris Ann Coleman, for her many months of loving care and support. on June 1, 2017.¹

     Wallace Augustus "Wally" Sowder Wally, or F-Sharp to friends, Wallace A. Sowder, 75 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home. He was born in Elberon, VA to the late Augustus T. Sowder and Marion C. Sowder. Wally was lovingly sarcastic, musically gifted, beach loving, and the proprietor of Wally World 72nd Street. He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his son, Scott A. Sowder and his wife Amy; grandson, John Scott; brother, Gene Sowder; nephew, Eric Sowder and his wife Anita and their three children: Will, Grace, and Ruby; niece, Jennifer Walthan; sister-in-law, Nancy Johnson and her husband Gary; and niece, Sunny Mitchell. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery in Surry, VA.⁴ He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, 2-498 County Road T-626, Surry, Surry Co., Virginia.⁴ He was born on May 21, 1941 at Richmond, Virginia.^4,3 He married Barbara Scott Irvine circa 1963.² Wallace Augustus "Wally" Sowder died on October 4, 2016 at Virginia at age 75.⁴

Barbara was a kind, loving, pretty and vivacious lady. She loved people and good times. She loved to help those in need and brought a smile to their faces. She will be missed by many. The family will receive friends on Sunday August 25, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd Chapel. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Surry County. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Susan H. and Dan Overstreet, and two grandsons, Stuart Overstreet and Will Overstreet, all of Bedford; and one brother, William Robert Sowder of Memphis, Tenn. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at Virginia Memorial Park. on October 19, 1994.⁶

He was known as and called "Uncle Bull" by Lamar, Hunter, and Mattie. Bill was a people-person who loved his family and friends deeply and openly. No one remained a stranger for long after meeting Bill. He gladly shared a hug with anyone he knew or met. He was a NASCAR enthusiast with deep loyalty to Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He enjoyed going to races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, The Daytona 500, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Chicago Land Race Track, and Talladega. Bill was one of the first champions selected by the Low Country Downs Syndrome and Related Disorders Society. Bill enjoyed country and rock and roll music and traveled throughout the southeast to see his many favorites, including Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, and Jon Bon Jovi along with many others. Bill will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives he touched. He was a master at spreading cheer and never let his limitations hold him back.
