Ronald Dana Underwood Ronald "Dana" Underwood, Sep 12, 1939 - Aug 11, 2025. Ronald Dana Underwood, 85, left us peacefully at home on August 11, 2025. A beloved husband, father, papa, and brother, Dana will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Born in Ohio, Dana grew up with nine brothers and sisters. On June 21, 1959, Dana married the love of his life, Carol Sue Conrad. The loving couple were married for 59 years before her passing in 2019. Dana worked for 46 years for the Kroger company before opening a business with colleagues. He received his Associate of Science in HVAC Technology in 1987 from Virginia Western Community College. He was an avid do-it-yourselfer, known for his creative ideas and solutions. Dana is survived by his son, Greg Underwood and daughter-in-law, Debbie; his son, Kerry Underwood and daughter-in-law, Julie; his daughter, Christy Clark and son-in-law, Chris, and adored Shih Tzus, Emma and Charlie. His grandchildren also survive him: Taylor Underwood, Shadow Dawson, Grady Laas, Hadley Laas, Quincy Laas, Matthew Clark, Will Clark, Meadow Underwood, and Henry Underwood. He is also survived by his brothers, Ray and Freddy Underwood, close friends as well as numerous extended family.4 He was born on September 12, 1939 at Portsmouth, Scioto Co., Ohio.3,4 He married Carol Sue Conrad, daughter of Fred Wilmer Conrad and Ethel Beatrice Aliff, on June 21, 1959 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.1,2,3,5,4 Ronald Dana Underwood died on August 11, 2025 at Virginia at age 85.4

Carol Ann Pendleton Carol Pendleton Ferguson, age 81 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was born May 4, 1944, a daughter of the late Cabel and Grace Sowder Pendleton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian “J.C.” Ferguson; siblings, Hilda “Bootie” Guilliams, Maude Bolling, Frances “Babe” Hodges, Mary Pendleton, Jake Pendleton, Howard Pendleton, Wiss “Littlon” Pendleton, John “Biggon” Pendleton and Frank Pendleton. Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Rhonda (Ricky) Furrow and Faith Flora; three grandchildren, Cory (Estelle) Furrow, Tim Furrow and Jonah Flora; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special neighbors. Carol was a longtime member at Glade Hill Baptist Church. She loved to cook, especially for her family who she loved dearly. Carol loved bluegrass music and loved to laugh. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
