Buddy was born on November 24, 1947 to James Burton and Annie Elizabeth Haney of Blacksburg, Va. who precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by brother-in-law, Harry Alls; and an infant son. Buddy was a long-time faithful employee of Poly-Scientific (currently MOOG Components) in Blacksburg where he worked for more than 45 years as Shipping Supervisor before retirement in 2015. He served nine years in a local Virginia National Guard unit and later held membership in Stuart's Horse Artillery Camp #1784, SCV on the service of his great-grandfather Thomas Davis. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Aldridge Haney; sons, Chris Haney of Roseland, Va. and Alex Haney of Denver, Colo; sisters, Mary Alls of Blacksburg and Ella Sue Moore (Albert) of Mechanicsville, Va; nieces, Wanda Alls of Christiansburg, Deborah Moore of Mechanicsville and Diane Alexander (Brian) of Richmond; nephew, Randall Alls (Becky) of Pilot, Va; and great-niece, Crystal Wharton (Jerry) of Blacksburg, as well as his Aldridge family. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ryan Gentzler and RN Kelly Phillips of the Emily Couric Cancer Center Hematology and Oncology Department at the University of Virginia whose special care of Buddy facilitated a five-year battle with cancer. We would also like to thank Dr. Heather Brooks and the nursing staff at Lewis-Gale Blue Ridge Cancer Center for their special care during his treatments. Also, we are thankful to Cindy's Companion Service for the helpful care given to Buddy in his last few days. Graveside services will be held in the Restvale Cemetery. on November 14, 2020.4

Poff of Roanoke; sisters, Shirley Montgomery of Blue Ridge, Nellie Stanley and her husband, Ronnie, of Roanoke; and a large, loving, extended family. Vest, on October 26, 1961 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,2,3,4,5,6 Benjamin Clayborne "Ben" Campbell died on August 17, 2014 at Virginia at age 73.5 He Benjamin C. (Ben) Campbell, 73, of Salem, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Ben was born and raised in Garden City, son of the late Alton and Mary Estelle Ferguson Campbell. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Bonnie Sue Poff Campbell; his oldest son, Barry Clay Campbell; and a brother, Richard Alton Campbell. Ben's biggest passion was his family. He is survived by his devoted children, Susan Ferguson and her husband, Joey, Karen Lucas and her husband, Keith, and Kevin Campbell and his wife, Amy; nine grandchildren who he loved with all of his heart and commented daily about how worried he was about their future,Dalton and Audrey Campbell, Claire, Logan and Alston Lucas, Caitlin Campbell, Matthew Ferguson and Sheyenne, Steven Ferguson and fianc?e, Abby, Derek Ferguson and wife, Sheena,who are expecting his first great-grandchild, Carson, due in October. Also surviving is his dear sister, Nancy Arnold, whom he cherished and her husband, Jerry; special cousins whom Ben referred to as his "sister cousins," Dorothy Bryant and Jean Mabes; numerous other family members and many dear friends. He was also passionate about his work, retiring in 2004 as Plant Manager of Custom Wood Products after 40 years of service. As a skilled cabinet maker and carpenter he built his own home and was instrumental in the construction of his children's homes. He was a member of Ninth Street Church of the Brethren. A celebration of Ben's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Pastor Dan Rudy will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Masons Cove Fire and Rescue. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nellie P. Stanley; parents, James and Theresa Mildred Thomas; and brother, Eddie Stanley. Ronnie worked for Branch Highways for over 40 years. He enjoyed doing excavating and mowing as a hobby. He lived his life to the fullest every day and nothing ever got in his way. Ronnie was a good father, grandfather, and friend to all that knew him. He was a member and deacon at Ninth Street Church of the Brethren and worked for Norfolk-Southern Railway with 30 years service. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Shirley Poff Montgomery; his sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff W. Montgomery of Blue Ridge, Greg D. and Kim Montgomery of Roanoke; his daughters and son-in-law, Natalie June and Jeff A. Rohaley of Greer, S.C., Alyson Paige Montgomery (student at William and Mary College) of Blue Ridge; his grandsons, Lucas Alan and Tyler Wayne Rohaley; his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bud Crouch of Salem; and all the other family members and friends that loved Wayne.
