Sarah A. E. Ridgeway was born in March, 1835 at Virginia. She married Peter H. Poff, son of Anthony Poff and Sarah "Sally" Wilson, on August 29, 1853 at Floyd Co., Virginia.2 As of August 29, 1853,her married name was Poff. Sarah A. E. Ridgeway died on January 4, 1910 at Glenvar, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 74.3 She Mrs. Sarah E. Poff died 1-4-1910 at the home of her Son W. A. Poff of Glenvar, Virginia. Mrs. Poff was well known here, having lived here for some time. She is a very highly esteemed old lady and loved by all that knew her. She had been a consistent and loved member of the M. E. Church for nearly 50 years.
She was about 73 years old and had enjoyed good health most all her life. Her death was very suddenly, was going up a stairway when she sank down and expired in a few moments. Her remains were brought back to Floyd County near Huffville, for burial. Her Husband had preceded her to the spirit world some 36 years and waiting for her to come and join him where there will be on more sad parting. We extend sympathies to the bereaved ones. A Loved One. on February 10, 1910.3
