He is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Martha and Ricky Ellis, Nancy and Everett (Tubby), Cindy and Eddy Jones; grandchildren, Lauren Ellis McGuire and husband, Matt, Tyler Ellis and his fiancé, Laura Love, Kevin Jones, Sarah Jones; great-grandchild, Tate McGuire; his sister and her husband, Geneva and Warren Blosser; sisters-in-law, Millie Mills and Wanda Duncan. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was born in Roanoke, Va. on January 13, 1925. He served in the Navy during World War II and afterward, worked at American Bridge Works, and retired from Eaton Corporation. He lived in the Wabun community most of his life. He was a faithful member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren. He was well known for his impeccably manicured lawn, and his beautiful garden. A special thanks to The Joseph C. Thomas Center and their staff for their exceptional loving care over the last year.Also, to Good Samaritan Hospice, and the special care takers from Generation Solution. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on May 26, 2016.8

     Geneva Ella Duncan Geneva Duncan Blosser of Salem, Va. passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Orlo Warren Blosser, Jr. and their daughter, Sandra Leigh Blosser. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Minnie Duncan, brothers: Ural (Emmaline), Carl (Ginny), Richard “Buck” (Wanda), James “Jim” (Avalee); Sisters – Georgie, Dorothy Gearheart (William “Bill”). She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Geneva was a dedicated wife and mother, and she loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the visits from her great-great nephews and niece- they brought her so much joy. Geneva was born on Nov. 25, 1929, in Salem, Va. She graduated from Andrew Lewis High School. She worked at the Virginia Highway Department (VDOT) after graduating from high school until her retirement. She and her husband lived in Salem for many years and then moved to Craig County for 33 years, until returning back to Salem in 2013. A special thank you to the staff at Friendship Assisted Living in Roanoke for the loving care they provided to Geneva.5 She was born on November 25, 1929 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,4,5 As of May 28, 1952,her married name was Blosser.3 She married Orlo Warren Blosser Jr. on May 28, 1952 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.11,3,9,12,5 Geneva Ella Duncan died on January 30, 2026 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 96.5

Mrs. Virginia Smith, 35, died Wednesday morning in South Side unit of Youngstown hospital of five stab wounds. The husband stabbed himself in the chest after he stabbed his wife, police said. At the hospital, the husband told Patrolmen Frank Bogner and Arthur Perkins that his wife had been out on an all-night date with a man whom she had dated since their marriage about two months ago. When his wife walked in through the front door this morning, Smith said, he did not remember anything. Mrs. Smith had been married twice before. On July 31, she filed a divorce petition against her husband, charging cruelty. on August 5, 1948.7
