He was born on November 2, 1926, in Floyd County to Daniel and Louella Conner. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and his wife of 66 years, Eunice Carter Conner. Wade is survived by his son, Danny Wade Conner and wife, Jennifer; two granddaughters, Emma and Allison Conner; his sisters-in-law, Inez Fletcher and Alta Conner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wade proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the service he began his career as an electrician. He was a 65-year member of the I.B.E.W. and retired from New River Electrical Corporation in 1987. Special thanks to the VVCC Salem and to the doctors, nurses and other staff who have provided excellent care over the last six weeks. Also, to Medi Home Health & Hospice and Home Instead staffs, and our friends and family members for their care and support over the past several months. Your compassion and care are greatly appreciated. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. on June 26, 2018.3

He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II, participating in the Second Wave at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He felt great pride in taking part in the liberation of the concentration camps. Upon return from World War II, he began his life long career as an electrician, working for Delta Electric Company for 13 years, S&W Cafeterias, and Macke Vending Company from which he retired after 25 years of service. Along with his many accomplishments, he served in the Civil Air Patrol for more than 50 years. He was a Free Mason of the Taylor Lodge in Salem for over 50 years. He was also, a member of the American Legion Post #3. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alta Wade Conner; brother, G. Wade Conner and wife, Eunice, of Vinton; daughter, Dolores Leed and husband, Stephen, of Yorktown; one grandson; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the Wade family and the best neighbors in the world. Special thanks to the VAMC, Salem and the doctors, nurses and other staff who have provided excellent care over the last several years. Also, to the Good Samaritan Hospice staff for their care and support over the last three months. Your compassion and care are greatly appreciated. Interment to follow at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin. on March 15, 2012.10

She was proud to be Grandma to seven grandchildren, Zach, Kelly, Laura, Emily, David, Daniel & Conner, and Great Grandma to three great-grandchildren, Finn, Ophelia & Oakley. Her family was her pride & joy & she spent her days looking forward to each visit. Her gentle, quiet spirit disguised her strength. Her smile was contagious. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Salem. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. on October 25, 2019.2

Born in Virginia he is survived by his wife of 40 years Wanda Wirt Conner and was the son of Lawson Daniel William Conner and Myrtle Mae Vest Conner, both deceased. Kenny enjoyed fishing, gardening, and trips to Gatlinburg, TN. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpappy. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Mindy Maxwell and husband Jonathan; his son, Andy Conner and wife Hailey; four grandchildren, Caleb and Payton Maxwell and Mason and Raegan Conner; his sisters and their husbands, Geraldine and Gene Hill, Brenda and Breece Surber, Kathy and Jimmy Haley, and Mary Conner; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Cline Conner; his Aunt Ruby and step sister, Opal. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Christian Life International Church, Pastor David L. Tuell officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. on October 12, 2005.10
