The body will remain at the Bailey Funeral Home until 1:30 p.m. today when it will be taken to the residence, Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kee St. Methodist Church with the Rev. Dwight Dickerson officiating assisted by the Rev. Paul McClananan. Burial will be made in Resthaven Cemetery. on December 1, 1957.6

He is also survived by his wife, former Louise Coleman of Princeton; one son, Aubrey Dean, home; five daughters; Betty Jean, Nancy Ann, and Mary Jean of Detroit, Mich; Faye and Dianna at home. Other survivors are one brother Leonard of Speedway; two sisters; Mrs. Robert Robertson of Speedway and Mrs. Junie Eanes of North Tazewell, Va. on July 21, 1955.5

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton. The Revs. Cecil Shrader and Paul Hall will officiate. Burial will follow at the White-Pennington Cemetery in Speedway. on January 1, 1996.2

Copen, 55, Rhodell, will be conducted at the Rhodell Methodist Church at 1 p.m. today with the Rev. A. R. Sayre and the Rev. T. E. Paynter in charge. Burial will be in the Athens Cemetery. Copen died Friday morning at his home after a long illness. The body will be taken from the Robertson and Foglesong Funeral home, Mullens, to the church one hour before the services. Pallbearers will be Charlie Farruggio, Walter Whittaker, Don Bare, T. G. McConnell, Orville Duppee and Bill Almond. on May 14, 1961.5

Tpr. William Craig of the Pineville Detachment, State Police, said Duppee died of a .38 caliber pistol wound to the heart. Death occurred at about 10 a.m. Craig said the death is under investigation. Duppee, who had resigned his post as mayor on April 22, was reportedly despondent due to ill health. Born at Warden, he was a son of Nancy Cole Duppee of Rhodell and the late George Duppee. He had been a resident of Rhodell for many years. A retired coal miner, he was last employed at Wyco and served as secretary of the United Mine Workers of America local at Amigo. Duppee was a member of the Moose Lodge for 25 years and a member of the Methodist Church of Rhodell. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Copen Duppee; two sisters, Inez of Rhodell and Mrs. Erma Rhodes of Wyco; one brother, Harold of Rhodell; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Linda Holloway of Fort Benning, Ga. and Mrs. David Brown of Piinesville, Ohio; one step-son, Gilbert Copen of Cleveland, Ohio and seven stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Rhodell Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Meadows in charge. Burial will be in the Odd Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sam Foglesong, Nease and Neely Funeral home in Mullens after 5 p.m. Saturday. on May 30, 1969.1

Born Sept. 8, 1920 at Speedway. Clarica was the daughter of the late Mr. Eugene Robertson and Mrs. Ada Pennington Robertson. She was a retired educator having taught in Raleigh County Schools for 20 years. She was a graduate of Concord College in Athens. Clarica was a member of First Christian Church of Beckley. Preceding her in death was her late husband, Paul Craghead, who was also an educator in Raleigh County Schools. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Atha Danieley, Titannia Robertson and Rhomeleta Barbor, and brothers, Troy Robertson and Nicholas Robertson. She is survived by one brother, Carsal Robertson of Wyandotte, Mich. Her beloved dachshund, Max, also preceded her in death. Clarica will live on in the memory of those who held her dear including her children, Monica Long, husband Harold, and Harry Craghead, wife Donna, both of Beckley; five grandchildren, Lisa Holt, husband Joe, of Charlotte, N.C., Shanna Holzapfel, husband Greg, of Kent, Ohio, Traci Williams, husband Larry, and Christopher Craghead, wife Thelma, all of Beckley, and Nicholas Craghead, wife Kim, of Princeton; and 11 great grandchildren, Jordan and Julian Holt of Charlotte, N.C., Jackson Holzapfel of Kent, Ohio, Meghan, Nathan and Evan Williams, and Todd and Abby Craghead all of Beckley, and Haley Ball, Alli and Carley Craghead of Princeton; and many additional relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2007, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Bill Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery in Athens. Friends may visit with the family on Monday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
