Mr. Manning was a dedicated member of Copper Hill Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the Check Ruritan Club for numerous years having served as club president for many years, and he served on the Farm Bureau Board. After his retirement, he and his wife, Juanita, farmed together for several years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mildred "Juanita" Manning and his parents, Hettie and Volly Manning. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Ed Miller of Christiansburg, Cindy and Lee Beckner of Copper Hill, Teresa and David Ingram of Copper Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Ersel Jr. and Sandra Manning of Floyd; Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Brad St. Clair, Eddie and Jessica Miller, Amie and Bobby Maxwell, Joshua Manning, Kristina and Chuck Cromer, Matthew, Jason, and Bryan Beckner, Wayne and Brandi Ingram, Kassie Ingram, and Jordan Ingram. He has been blessed by eight great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Ilene and Arthur Conner and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vester and Alma Lou Manning and Joseph and Gertie Manning. The family wishes to thank Carilion Hospice and caregivers Angela Linkous and Dulinda Bender. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Marty Moyer, and the Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Restvale Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. on Sunday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd. on August 25, 2013.4

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ersel Adam Manning Sr., of Copper Hill; daughters and sons- in-law, Jean and Ed Miller, of Christiansburg, Cindy and Lee Beckner, of Copper Hill, and Teresa and David Ingram, of Copper Hill; son and daughter- in-law, Ersel Jr. and Sandra Manning, of Floyd. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Brad St.Clair, Eddie and Jessica Miller, Amie and Bobby Maxwell, Joshua Manning, Kristina and Chuck Cromer, Matthew, Jason and Bryan Beckner, Wayne and Brandi Ingram, Kassie Ingram and fiance, Michael Belcher, and Jordan Ingram. She has been blessed with seven great-grandchildren. A special thank you goes out to her caregivers Kallie Parker and the Carilion Hospice Family. Interment will follow at Restvale Cemetery. on January 10, 2013.2

Thirdly - I give to Delpha Vest, James Martin's heirs, and Moses Martin, Tabitha Graham, Syntha Lawrence, William Martin, Jr and Letica Hale heirs with the Exception of Jeremiah Hale, who is to have One Dollar as his part, the above named parties is to Shear Eaqual in My Estate.
Fourthly - I gave to Tempey Forgerson my Daughter ten Dollars out of my Estate and no more -
Fifthly - I give unto Isaac Martin, my son, One Dollar and no more.

She was paralyzed about the 8th of Jan and gradually grew weaker, but would ____ up part of the time until about two weeks before she died and she got too weak to be taken up anymore.
Her funeral was preached by Eld. L. S. Moran and J. H. Cummings and her remains were laid to rest in the Red Oak Grove cemetery...
